Ever fancied taking part in the famous Coopers Hill Cheese Roll in Gloucester? It’s taking place this Bank Holiday Monday.
From the organisers:
The famous cheese rolling event will take place this Bank Holiday Monday (26th May) in Brockworth.
Races start 12pm. The Cheese Roll is a free event to attend no tickets needed.
No registration is needed, however all down hill races have a maximum amount of 25 people per race. It is a first come first served basis.
You WILL need to use one of the parking areas advertised.
No 10 buses are available from Gloucester and Cheltenham and go direct to Brockworth. You will need to get off at the Cross Hands stop.
The walk to the hill is around 30/40 mins, and this can be made through the field to the right of the Shell Garage, or alternatively up the roadway beside it, also leading to the hill.
Please remember you are walking through the home of some livestock. They will be minding their own business, so please do the same.
Sensible footwear and clothing is a must! The ground is solid this year with no rain! We suggest any children taking part cover up well and also wear gloves to help going up.
You do NOT have to enter the hill to attend, the fields below also has a great view.
Dogs on leads are welcome, but please consider how busy it will be and please clean up any mess after them. There will be black litter bags around the area.
Unfortunately we do not have disabled parking available. This is something totally out of our control with the roads leading to the Hill being closed by authorities. We are sorry.
We do have a burger van, an ice cream and cake seller joining us on the day.
Cheese Roll T-shirts also available on the day.
All spectators and participants attend entirely at your own risk.
See you soon, love from Mrs Coopers and Team Cheese.
