There are reports of an oil spill affecting a Herefordshire river this afternoon.

A member of the public has shared a photo of oil, that they say has been flowing for more than 30 minutes, in the River Frome near Bishops Frome.

In a post on Bromyard Info, Tina said:

“Oil still flowing down the River Frome – we have been watching for 35 mins now from the bridge near Bishops Frome – it may have been flowing all day.”

Your Herefordshire understands that the incident has been reported to the Environment Agency.

The River Frome flows through Bromyard and Bishops Frome, before joining the River Lugg near Hereford, just a short distance from where the River Lugg joins the River Wye at Mordiford.
