St Michael’s Hospice says it is delighted its 40-hour Caring for the Future fundraising campaign has brought in around £300,000 – and announces there’s still time to donate.
The Bartestree-based Hospice launched the ambitious campaign to mark 40 years of providing palliative and end-of-life care throughout Herefordshire and beyond. Half the money was donated by the community, with each donation matched by backers. And despite falling short of the initial £400,000 target, the charity says it has been blown away by the generosity of supporters.
“To have raised close to £300,000 in just 40 hours is testament to our incredible community,” said Rachel Jones, the Hospice’s Income Generation, Marketing & Communications Director.
“Thank you to every single person who donated, match-funded, or just spread the word about this campaign. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by such support, particularly at a time when all of us are feeling the pinch. The good news, if you didn’t donate, is that there’s still time to do so, and help us reach our £400K target.”
The money collected through Caring for the Future appeal may still rise as the charity has said it will keep the donation page open for a short time.
The vital funds will go towards the training and development of St Michael’s Hospice staff, ensuring the ongoing delivery of world-class palliative care to patients, and support to loved ones.
The Appeal Remains Open: How You Can Still Help
