Fire crews are currently tackling a wildfire on a hill on the border between England and Wales this morning near Kington.
The fire is on Hanter Hill and was first reported overnight.
Crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, as well as Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance and tackling the wildfire.
Local residents have reported that the fire appear to have spread and that the wind in the area could be making it harder to put out.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Kington Fire Station was called at 22:14 on 6 June to smoke in the area at Upper Hanter, Walton, Presteigne.
“Crews maintained a watching brief before handing the incident over to the Mid and West Wales Fire Service in whose area the incident occurred.”
