Motorists who use the A49 in Herefordshire overnight are being advised to plan ahead of their journeys, with sections of the A49 closed overnight between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye from this evening.
National Highways will be carrying out work between Ross-on-Wye (Wilton Roundabout) and Hereford (Starting Gate Roundabout) from 8pm this evening until 6am tomorrow morning. Work will then take place every night, until 17th February.
The majority of the road will remain open during this time, with just small sections of the carriageway closed each night to minimise disruption. Diversions will be in place and signposted.
National Highways have provided the following text information on the upcoming work that will take place on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye:
“White lining/road markings – A49 northbound and southbound Wilton to Hereford. Carriageway closures due to lining works. Diversion via national highways and local authority networks.”
National Highways Works Reference Number – NOMS-353552
We’ll keep this up to date with any further updates that National Highways or Herefordshire Council may provide.
