The county’s A-level students are celebrating today after achieving some fantastic exam results.
The provisional A-level results for Herefordshire’s maintained schools and academies with sixth forms have demonstrated the talent of the county’s young people. The overall A* – E pass rate was 99.5% which was higher than the 97.5% national average. The percentage of students in Herefordshire achieving the top grades of A* and A was 23.6%. Results also indicate a significant increase in the average point score per A-level entry by Herefordshire students in 2019.
Councillor Felicity Norman, Herefordshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “I am absolutely delighted with this year’s excellent A-level exam results, a testimony to the hard work of our students and the high quality of teaching in our schools.
Congratulations to all involved, the students, their teachers, parents and carers. Our young people deserve their success and I wish them well in the next stage of their lives, whether it is an apprenticeship, employment or university.”
