Westfields Football Club manager Phil Glover says he is delighted that defender Ryan Green has committed to the club for the forthcoming season.
The return did look unlikely, when Green suffered a potential career ending achilles injury in April 2021.
Phil Glover said: “I’ve got a good relationship with Ryan and when we had a chat back in March it was a no brainer, I wanted to get it done and him back with us if he was fit to return to football and wanted to continue.
“His experience is invaluable and it will no doubt help us this season. He will work closely with Joe Darly our Physio over the next few weeks to make sure we are sensible with his pre season.”
A club spokesman added: “Let’s hope Ryan can have the same impact as the season he first joined when we were one of only two step 5 teams who hadn’t lost across the country. At the time we were on course to win the league and gain promotion as winners however COVID struck and the league was null and void.
“Ryan’s experience and professionalism proved invaluable to helping the team that season and we look forward to welcoming him back as he was really missed during the 21-22 season.”
