Tributes have been pouring in overnight following the confirmation that Jamal Haider, famous for being the owner of the incredibly popular Jamal’s takeaway on Bridge Street in Hereford, has sadly passed away.
Jamal was so popular. Everyone in Hereford and miles beyond knew of him and his wonderful food. The number of people that must have stepped through the doors over the past few decades is in the tens of thousands. The man is a legend in Hereford and certainly somebody who will never be forgotten.
Flowers have been laid outside Jamal’s Kebab Shop on Bridge Street in Hereford.

Diane Rogers: Oh my goodness what sad news my thoughts and prayers to all the family. I first met Jamal when we came to Hereford to look for a house over 36 years ago a true gentleman may he rest in peace.

The owners of The Den Restaurant on Bridge Street said: We are very saddened by this news today. Jamal was a lovely man and an integral part of Herefords food scene. He will very greatly missed by many people. Our thoughts are with his family. Rip Jamal.
