A fire crew from Hereford Fire Station, as well as the Animal Rescue Team were called to an incident where a horse had got its leg stuck in an item of farm machinery.
A spokesperson for Bromyard Fire Station said:
“Yesterday evening crews from Hereford station with ultra heavy cutting equipment and off road capability along with Animal Rescue Team were called to assist in releasing Stan the Horse.
“Stan had got his leg trapped in some farm machinery. Fortunately Hannah from Belmont Vets was already on scene by the time we arrived and she had administered some sedation to keep Stan calm. This enabled us to work on releasing his leg that was trapped between the A frame of the draw bar.
“After some cutting and spreading of the bar, Stan was able to walk back to his stable where he was fully checked over by Hannah and the good news is that he will be fine.”
