Ryan McLean, who joined Hereford on loan from Newcastle Town shortly before the season was curtailed, has agreed a permanent two-year deal with The Bulls for an undisclosed fee.
McLean arrived on loan from Newcastle Town in February and featured as a substitute vs Brackley in what turned out to be the final league game of the season. Having already featured in the FA Trophy for Newcastle Town, McLean was unavailable for The Bulls during the Trophy run, but continued to train with the squad.
After impressing manager Josh Gowling during that period, McLean has agreed a two-year deal with The Bulls. “Ryan came to our attention after having a trial at Port Vale and came in on loan, he’ll add a lot of pace to the team, he’s quick, direct, and has a great understanding of the game. He’s an exciting player, and I’m sure he’ll be a real crowd-pleaser.
“He’s added goals to his game in recent seasons, so he’s got a real all-round game and I’m expecting big things of him this season.”
Speaking after agreeing the new deal, McLean said: “I came in on loan last season, got a game game, but then the season got cancelled! It was a good experience, all I could do was play and train as well as I could, I was involved each week, did what I could and obviously the gaffer was impressed!
“Hopefully I can get as many games under my belt as possible, get some goals and see what happens.”
