Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for volunteers who can spare a few hours a week to support the vaccination hub at Elgar House, Hereford.
Volunteers will manage the queues (both outdoor and indoor) and offer visitors to the hub general signposting information. Shifts are seven days a week from 8.30am – 5.30pm or split to 8.30am – 12.30pm and 1pm – 5.30pm, starting in July.
Jane Ives, the Managing Director of the Trust, said “Volunteers have played an important part in supporting our staff throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have made a huge difference at a time when the Trust has been under a great pressure.”
It is not only the Trust that benefits from volunteers, the volunteers themselves also feel rewarded that they have made a difference. Christine Walker, a volunteer at the Trust for three years said “I feel a great sense of pride that I can play a part in the amazing work that our NHS does and would recommend that everyone, who is able, signs up as a volunteer”
Anyone who is 17 years old or over can apply to be a volunteer. All successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS and will be given full training.
