As part of Herefordshire Council’s ambitious development and regeneration programme, two new development partners were appointed yesterday (Thursday 28 June):
The new partners were named today as ENGIE Regeneration Ltd and Keepmoat Homes Ltd, who in 2017 sold off its regeneration arm to French energy giant Engie for £330 million.
The agreements will bring to life plans contained within the adopted Core Strategy (the document that sets out Herefordshire’s planning priorities until 2031). The plan outlines the development opportunities enabled by the City Link Road and Hereford Bypass, as well other sites across the county such as Ross Enterprise Park.
Councillor David Harlow, Herefordshire Council Cabinet Member for Economy and Communications, said of the announcement,
“Herefordshire is looking to the future and will continue to thrive as we make the most of the development opportunities brought by the City Link Road and bypass. Our development and regeneration plans will ensure Herefordshire is a great place to live, work, learn and visit. Our partnership with Keepmoat Homes Ltd and ENGIE Regeneration Ltd will contribute to the development of a thriving local economy across the county, with thousands of new homes, hundreds of jobs and Hereford’s new university which welcomes the design cohort of students this September.”
The first new homes are expected to be delivered by late summer 2019.
