Bulls boss Peter Beadle has revealed his latest summer signing, bringing in 22-year-old Danny Greenslade from Weston-Super-Mare.

The former Bristol Rovers youngster, who trained with The Bulls last night, was a regular in the National League South last season where he was a key member of the Weston-Super-Mare side. The left sided-defender is the nineteenth player to sign up for the new season.

Greenslade has long been on The Bulls’ radar, with Hereford having had a bid accepted by Weston last season. “We had an offer accepted for Danny last season” said Beadle, “but because we were in the Southern League, he just didn’t want to drop down. His ambitions are to return to full-time football, and I think he felt that moving to the level we were at last season was perhaps too big a risk for him.

Greenslade, who was under contract at Weston last term, turned down the offer of a new deal with the Seagulls for the coming season and as he is currently under twenty-four, the move required both clubs to come to an agreement regarding compensation, with the fee set to remain undisclosed.

“With us now promoted and playing in the National League he sees this as a fantastic opportunity to progress his career, he’s got drive and ambition and we’re a good fit for each other” continued Beadle.

“It is great that the board have made the funds available for us to bring Danny in, he is a player who has got a lot of quality about him, he’ll get up and down the pitch and has a lovely left-foot on him, he has a great character and we’re excited to be working with him.”
