The River Wye has burst its banks in Hereford this morning, with some riverside paths flooded and impassable.
Levels on the Wye have continued to rise overnight and are currently at 4.1 metres at Old Bridge and still rising. A peak level of around 4.4 – 4.7 metres is expected within the next few hours. No major disruption is expected but further flooding is possible later this week and into this weekend with more rain forecast across Herefordshire and Mid Wales.
A flood alert is also in place on the River Lugg North of Leominster and the River Lugg South of Leominster, as well as the River Arrow in Herefordshire.
