Herefordshire’s chances of seeing restrictions downgraded to Tier 1 next week seem unlikely for a number of reasons.
Despite case numbers and infection rates seeing a significant fall, the NHS is still dealing with the after effects of the wave of cases that affected parts of the county last month. The number of patients on mechanical ventilation has continued to rise over recent weeks, with six patients on a ventilator according to the latest data released by NHS England yesterday.
Combine that with a significant increase in cases in parts of South Wales and the chances of restrictions being relaxed appear slim.
