The community of Leominster is coming together to support those in need this Christmas.
Lee Ellesmore, General Manager at Clifton Bingo in Leominster had the idea to provide a three course meal for people in emergency accommodation, parents and guardians that currently receive free school meals and the elderly that are unable to see family. There will be several sittings to ensure that numbers are limited to help with social distancing.
The initiative will be supported by Co-Op and Leominster Food Bank, with a small donation asked from those that attend the sittings. (The donation is not compulsory as the organisers understand that some of those attending simply won’t have any money available to pay)
Customers at the Co-Op and Clifton Bingo will have the opportunity to donate plates/cutlery and other items to support the event.
Claire Edwards (Manager of Co-Op in Leominster) said: “Tackling loneliness is one of co-op’s campaigns this year so we’ve tried to think of how we can help in Leominster whilst still making sure we are social distancing and COVID secure.”
