Press Release from Hereford Cathedral School:
Hereford Cathedral School has today been notified that there has been a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 within the Junior School.
Our priority is the safety and well-being of our school community, and we are working closely with the Department for Education (DfE) to manage the situation. We have been instructed by the DfE that pupils and staff in our Year 1 bubble should not attend school and that they will be required to self-isolate for a period of time, as calculated by PHE.
We have introduced a number of measures this term to help protect our school community, including year group bubbles and other adjustments to minimise the mixing of pupils. I am pleased to say that as a result, we are advised that it is highly unlikely that pupils in other year groups will have come into close contact with the affected individual.
For the duration of the self-isolation for Year 1, we will be providing a full remote learning programme which ran exceptionally well last term. For these pupils, this will provide them with the opportunity to follow their usual school day while learning from home. The school will remain open for all other pupils as usual.
