Press Release from Luctonians:

On Sunday 13th April, Luctonians RFC proudly hosted its 30th Anglo-Welsh Mini Festival, a milestone moment for one of the club’s most cherished traditions.

This annual celebration of grassroots rugby has become a staple of the Luctonians calendar, bringing together young players, families, and clubs from across England and Wales for a day of camaraderie, community, and sport.

This year’s festival welcomed an incredible lineup of teams, with players travelling from near and far to take part:

Brecon RFC, Clee Hill RUFC, Ledbury RFC, Ludlow RFC, Hereford RFC, Gwernyfed RFC, Pentyrch RFC, Shotton Steel RFC, Worcester RFC, Bridgnorth RFC, Cobra RFC, Droitwich RFC, Stourbridge RFC, Barkers Butts RFC, Chester RFC, and Veseyans RFC.

Thanks to the dedication of an army of volunteers, the event ran seamlessly. From marking out pitches and managing team bookings to serving food and guiding visitors, the Luctonians community once again pulled together to deliver a day that celebrated everything great about the game.

Alex Smith, Operations Director at Luctonians RFC, shared:

“The Anglo-Welsh Mini Festival has been our biggest single-day event in the club’s calendar for decades and continues to offer a wonderful day of sport for the local area and the wider rugby community.

From a club perspective, so many of our current senior players have participated in this festival as youngsters, and it is fantastic to see them back every year as volunteers.”

To all the clubs, families, friends, and supporters who helped us celebrate three decades of festival magic – thank you. The love of rugby was at the heart of the day, and we look forward to doing it all again next year.
