RACING | Horse Racing returns to Hereford and Mental Health is the topic of the day

Horse Racing returns to Hereford Racecourse today and sadly due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the raceday will be held behind closed doors.

Hereford Racecourse welcomes Jump racing back to Hereford for the first time this season with the ‘Now We’re Talking’ Season Opener raceday today. The country’s leading jockeys will be back in action on the track. The fixture will be behind closed doors but you can watch all racing live on Sky Sports Racing.

The ‘Now We’re Talking’ campaign, is led by Worcestershire Health and Care Trust and aims to raise awareness of local mental health support across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Healthy Minds is a self-referral service for local people aged 16+ experiencing common mental health difficulties such as stress, anxiety, low mood or depression.

You can self-refer by calling 0800 073 22 00 for Herefordshire or 0300 302 13 13 for Worcestershire, Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm or find out more at by visiting the Now We’re Talking website

Despite the raceday being held behind closed doors, you can still enjoy the action at selected pubs across the city. Our friends at Rubix Bar and The Stables both have the racing live, with offers on drinks starting at £1.99! Support your local racecourse and your local bar at the same time!
