The VAR officials selected for Rangers’ Champions League qualifying match yesterday Dynamo Kiev against were reportedly arrested hours before kick-off.
Polish official Bartosz Frankowski had been appointed as the video assistant referee, with compatriot Tomasz Musial his assistant VAR.
Tomasz is the son of former Hereford United player Adam Musial and was born in Hereford in 1981.
Musial senior made 46 appearances for Hereford United between 1980-1983, he was a Polish international and famously played in the game at Wembley in 1973 where Poland famously stopped England qualifying for the 1974 World Cup.
It is alleged that Frankowski and Musial, along with a third person, were caught stealing a road sign in Lublin.
Arrests were made at around 01:43am local time, with the offence being ‘destroying road infrastructure’.
Frankowski and Musial are said to have had alcohol in their system and were taken to a ‘sobering-up centre’
