Tributes have been paid to a popular motocross rider who has died following a tragic accident at an event near the Herefordshire border.
The incident occurred at Penybont, near Llandrindod Wells.
Mid Wales Motocross have confirmed that rider Duncan Powell has died.
A statement on Facebook said:
“We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Duncan Powell, the rider from yesterdays accident.
“Duncan was a regular rider of ours who always had a big smile on his face and knew how to put one on other faces too.
“From the whole family at Mid Wales Motocross we are devastated and send all of our love to Duncan’s family, close friends and to everyone else who knew of Duncan in the motocross community!
“Keep that wire tight up there and don’t let that smile off your face!”
Friends of Duncan’s soon followed with tributes.
Alan Bates said:
“So sorry for your loss hear this terrible news, what a lovely bloke Duncan was.
“Condolences to all of Duncans family and friends.”
James Benson added:
“RIP Duncan. A great guy and a sad loss to his family and our MX community.”
