The HFA is delighted to confirm that, following the securing of external funding through its partners the Football Association, the Football Foundation and Herefordshire Council, it will be completely renovating its building at the County Ground and extending its car park facility, with a total investment of more than £300,000.

Following a competitive process, the successful tenderer Thackway & Cadwallader will be commencing on the 10thJanuary 2022, with a scheduled build of 20 weeks. During thistime the office will be closed, but pitch will remain open.

The refurbished building will include brand new national league system compliant changing rooms, two meeting rooms available for external hire and refurbished spaces for the HFA’s team of 10.

The HFA is also delighted to confirm that it is entering into a 3-year partnership with SSAFA (Herefordshire), The Armed Forces Charity, with the refurbished site becoming known as The HFA SSAFA County Ground.

Alan Darfi, HFA CEO said ‘’having worked on these projectsfor a while now, it is great to finally be in a position to release details of what promises to be an incredibly exciting development for the HFA.

The refurbished building promises to deliver an exceptional service for all our users, including those hiring our 3G all-weather pitch facility and meeting rooms, during the daytime or evening. As a not-for-profit company, this development also benefits the wider football community of 10,000 regular participants and wide support network, in that it places the HFA in a stronger financial position, allowing further investment into the game locally.

The opportunity to partner with a charity such as SSAFA is also incredibly exciting and all at the HFA are really looking forward to helping promote the fantastic work that SSAFA does supporting the military community of Herefordshire’’

Tim Howson, Chair of SSAFA Herefordshire said â€˜â€™we are delighted to announce our partnership with Herefordshire Football Association, an organisation that is strongly committed to the Armed Forces Covenant. This is the first partnership of its kind in the country and will provide a unique opportunity for the local community to find out more about the work that we do and be inspired to take an active role in SSAFA, either as a volunteer or by supporting our fund-raising efforts.’’
