Herefordshire Council has agreed to grant a temporary licence for Hereford FC to occupy land and buildings at the Blackfriars End of Edgar Street, to improve the facilities and welfare for away supporters.

This move is until the club can find a permanent solution.

Both Herefordshire Council and Hereford Football Club have recently held meetings to discuss the future of the Blackfriars End of the Edgar Street Stadium, with both parties keen to find a solution to improve this end that has now been disused for several seasons.

Herefordshire Council says that the decision to temporarily grant a licence to occupy land and buildings at the Blackfriars End of the stadium was for the following reasons:

Land and buildings at the Blackfriars end of the football ground are not included in the lease to Hereford FC.

The Football club wishes to use some on the small buildings in this area for access and welfare purposes for the benefit of away visitors.

This is a temporary licence whilst the club works on a permanent solution.

The club will be responsible for maintenance and statutory compliance of the buildings and there will be no cost for Herefordshire Council.
