Hereford FC manager Josh Gowling has heaped the praise on the clubs supporters following a 3-3 draw with Spennymoor Town at Edgar Street on the opening day of the season.

A crowd of more than 2,200 saw a six goal thriller, with the Bulls looking sharp in attack.

“The way in which we conceded the goals was frustrating,” admitted manager, Josh Gowling. “That said, I thought that we looked a real threat in possession all afternoon.

“We turned balls over well but had a spell where we stopped doing the things that we were doing well and it is a lesson for the lads.

“At the end of the day, it’s our first point on the board and something that we will be looking to build upon.

“We want to get forward and score goals and I think it’s clear to see already that we are stronger than we were last season.

“There are aspects of our game that we need to work on; we need to learn to manage gams better at times, but we’ll get there as the lads learn more about each other.

“We’ve got strength in depth and there are so many positive signs.

“I thought the fans were brilliant. They turned up in good numbers and were willing us forward all afternoon. The only thing missing from the afternoon was a win at the end of it.

“We can really get this place rocking and make it a fortress this season.”

The Bulls next home fixture is against Buxton at Edgar Street on Saturday 20th August. 3pm kick off.
