The Endurance GB International Committee is proud to announce that Andrea Champ from Hereford has been selected to represent England at the Home International Endurance Championships.
The event will take place on the 10th and 11th of August in Kilkenny, Ireland.
The Home International Endurance Championship is a highly anticipated annual competition that brings together teams from England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland to showcase their equestrian prowess.
Andrea started endurance riding in 2008 and has since competed on some of the toughest courses in the UK and abroad. She has completed three 160km competitions, the pinnacle of endurance riding, all with Druimghigha Lantana. This impressive mare, now 17 years old, began her competitive career in 2013 and has been a consistent performer over 160km and 120km courses, amassing an impressive 3000km of successful competition. Her pass rate stands at an impressive 96%.
Andrea expressed her enthusiasm about her selection: “I am delighted to represent England this year, our first time on a Home International Team and am very much looking forward to riding in Ireland.”
Bella Fricker, the Chef d’Equipe of the England squad, expressed her confidence in the selected team, praising their exceptional talent. “We are delighted with our final team. With such a huge pool of talent to choose from, the selection wasn’t easy. We have every confidence in the squad’s ability to tackle the Irish terrain, particularly with such established combinations to represent us.”
The Endurance GB International Committee extends its best wishes to the entire England Squad as they embark on this thrilling journey to the Home International Championships.
