8-year-old Archie Loveridge is continuing to surprise people in the karting world after being crowned Total Karting Zero Northern Champion with a 23 point lead.

After being crowned the Bambino Champion in the Total Karting Zero Winter Championship, Archie made the move up to cadets in May where he would be racing faster karts and more experienced racers.

The age bracket for that category is 8-12-years-old. With Archie aged just 8-years-old and one of the youngest competitors everyone was expecting him to build himself up and get some experience before running with the top competitors who are aged around 11 and 12-years-old.

It was a six round championship and Archie managed a 1st place finish in his first ever race. What an achievement!

Archie then continued with another 1st place finish before two 2nd place finishes. He then rounded up the championship with two 1st place finishes. Archie was then crowned 2022 Total Karting Zero Northern Champion with a 23 point lead.

Total Karting Zero ran two championships, a Northern & Southern (Archie competed in the North). Archie was then invited to take part in a National Final where the highest scoring drivers from the North & South Championships competed to be crowned National Champion!

We are pleased to confirm that Archie travelled down and won and was therefore crowned National Champion!

Here’s a few words from Archie’s Facebook page:

“I headed down to my first time at Rye House Kart Raceway, where the highest scoring competitors from the Total Karting Zero engineered by Rob Smedley north and south championship met to compete for the title of National Champion.

“I’m so excited to announce I am the Total Karting Zero 2022 National Cadet Champion! At a track where it all started for Lewis Hamilton.

“This win also meant a lot as sadly a few days before the event we lost a family member, one of my biggest supporters. I was determined to do this one for you!

“It’s been a pleasure and honour to be at the event with so many incredible drivers. Huge well done to every single one of you.

“Next race will be back in my own kart at Shenington Kart Racing Club – SKRC for the UK IKR Series on 6th November.“
