The BHA has confirmed that the Horse Racing fixtures scheduled to take place at Worcester on Tuesday 7 May and Monday 13 May will be transferred to Hereford.
Following extensive flooding at Worcester over the winter, additional time is required to ensure that the track and on-course facilities are in an appropriate condition to host racing.
Therefore, the BHA has agreed to transfer the first two fixtures of the season to Hereford, with the race programmes remaining as originally published.
Mark Spincer, Managing Director, Arena Racing Company Racing Division, said:
“We are grateful to the BHA for facilitating these fixture moves.
“It has been a difficult winter across the country, but the numerous and extensive floods at Worcester have caused particular problems with the normal preparation of the track for the summer season, as well as many of the other racing facilities such as the paddock.
“With floodwaters now subsiding, the Worcester team will be able to get on with all of that work and we look forward to welcoming everyone back later in May and opening the new Weighing Room facility also.”
