Westfields Football Club’s staff, players and supporters will pay tribute to Mike Dandey prior to kick off when they host Longlevens at Allpay Park this evening.
Mike’s death was confirmed at the weekend and a post on the Westfields Football Club Facebook page said:
“Fields are saddened to announce that the extremely popular committee member, fundraiser, supporter Mike Dandey has passed away after a long illness.
“Mike was the type of man who remained positive in good and bad times at the club and on match days would always be seen selling half time draw tickets to all who entered Allpay Park and would make them feel welcome.
“To the management teams he would always ring to offer support if things weren’t going well or ring to congratulate if we had won the game.
“He travelled to Hereford from Worcester with his great friend and Chairman Chris Williams to raise valuable funds for our great club and offer his support without wanting anything in return, a mark of the man he was.
“He will be truly missed by us all at the Fields.
“Our sincere condolences go to his Family & Friends on this sad day.
“Tuesday 5th October will see Westfields hold a minutes silence in his honour before our home game vs. Longlevens. 7-45pm kick off.”
