U16 Youth Cup semi final ends in dramatic penalty shootout.

On Sunday, Toros entertained Hereford Pegasus in the HFA Youth Cup semi final at Belmont Abbey.

The opening ten minutes of the game started very hectic, with neither team creating any clear-cut chances.

Pegasus broke the deadlock from a corner which deflected in, to put the away side 1-0 up. Pegasus then soon doubled their lead with a free kick landing in the box for the striker who slotted it away confidently.

Pegasus pushed forward to get a third and looked a threat from set pieces but Toros defended well.

Half Time – Toros 0-2 Pegasus.

Toros started the second half stronger and got a goal back early after their striker latched onto a long ball to finish confidently.

Toros pushed for a equaliser which came with three minutes left on the clock. The right winger scored a superb volley to get the game back level and take the match to penalties.

After some dramatic moments and Toros thinking they had won it before they had, it was the goalkeeper who made a fantastic save to win the shootout 3-2 in favour of Toros.

They will progress to play Bartestree in the final which will be played out at The Herefordshire FA’s County Ground, on the 2nd April.
