By Sam Edwards:

Saturday’s game at Westfields was very nearly in doubt following a road accident involving the originally nominated Assistant Referee, Jakub. Westfields were left without an assistant referee just 3 hours prior to kickoff, which they brought attention to on their social media pages asking for any experienced/qualified officials to volunteer.

Gratefully, they received an instant response from local official Sean Arrowsmith who offered his assistance, however the Hellenic League already had a replacement in Phillip Wrightman. Thankfully the Hellenic have confirmed that Jakub is “all okay”.

The local side went on to win the game rather comfortably in the end. A Joshua Hunt penalty and Harrison Summers’ bottom corner finish put Westfields 2-0 up. The visitors quickly grabbed one back just before a beautifully chipped shot from Daniel Stoneman restored the two goal lead. The second half saw a Fields fourth goal in the early stages with Summers grabbing his brace. The young forward was very unlucky not to secure his hatrick after a bucket load of chances were saved from an impressive Chipping Sodbury keeper. Harrison Summers received the man of the match award as he continues to impress as one of Hereford’s finest young talents.
