Former Port Vale, Chester, and Macclesfield left-sided midfielder, Ryan Lloyd, joins in time for tomorrow’s FA Cup game at Gosport.

Speaking shortly after signing, Lloyd said: “I’ve enjoyed being back playing football, it’s been a long period off with what’s going on around the world, so it’s been good to have a run-around. Hopefully, the cobwebs have been blown off, and I’m looking forward to getting going.

“I imagine that the National League and this league are pretty similar, both very hard leagues to get out of, but looking at the lads who are here, there are some very good players. I’ve played with a few of them, so I know what they’re about.

“I’ve settled in well, I’m in a car school, Junction 10 of the M6! It makes traveling a little easier. I’ve played with a few of the lads before, it’s always nice to go into a club where you already know people.”

Josh Gowling feels that Lloyd could be an instrumental part of his squad this season: “Ryan is a big signing for us, he’s athletic, strong, very experienced and has played at a higher level.

“I’m sure he’ll make our midfield even stronger and I’m delighted to get him on board. He’s another player that I know I can count on to give 100% every week, and that’s what the fans want to see. He’ll give maximum effort week in week out and I’m delighted to have him on board.”
