HEREFORD FC 3-0 South Shields
Hereford FC put on a show in their opening game in the National League North, with a 3-0 victory over South Shields in front of 2,888 supporters at Edgar Street on Saturday.
The victory will leave the Bulls full of optimism for a good season, with the visitors one of the better sides in the league last season, finishing just outside the play offs in 8th position.
Hereford got the season off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory at home to South Shields.
The home side took the lead in the 26th minute through debutant Montel Gibson.
Andy Williams then doubled the lead early on in the second half before Yusifu Ceesay made it three in the 82nd minute.

HEREFORD PEGASUS 3-1 Worcester Raiders
Hereford Pegasus continued their strong start to the Hellenic League Premier Division season with a 3-1 victory over Worcester Raiders at the KGD Stadium.
The hosts gave home debuts to Sam Rawlings, Harrison Iddles and Isaac Cooper. There was a new face in goal with Jenson Kilroy a Walsall FC loanee replacing the injured Matt Gwynne.
It took Pegasus just four minutes to open the scoring. Kane Kahaki headed home a Carlos Moreira corner kick.
Midway through the half Kilroy made an important stop as he palmed the ball over the crossbar.
Ten minutes after the break Pegasus increased the advantage. A Cooper free kick was partly cleared, Jordan Williamson collected the ball before passing to Harry Pitman. The Man of the Match, cut inside before curling the ball into the corner of the goal.
Raiders continued to push forward in search of a goal however, as the home defence quelled an attack, Pitman cleared the ball to Cooper, who beat his marker before guiding the ball past the advancing goalkeeper Charlie Emery.
Deep into stoppage time, Raiders scored a consolation goal through substitute Ben Senogo.
On Monday, 12th August, Pegasus host Pershore Town in a Premier Division fixture in the uhlsport Hellenic Football League at the KGD Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.
Longlevens 2-0 WESTFIELDS FC
Westfields FC’s positive start to the season came to an abrupt end at Longlevens on Saturday afternoon.
Westfields had the majority of the possession and the chances, with James Hancocks, Dan Stoneman and Cameron Keetch having chances to open the scoring. However, they were soon punished, with an error from Kieron Blackburn giving the hosts the chance to take the lead from close range.
Former Hereford Lads Club and Hereford U18s forward Lewis Rose grabbed the second for the hosts near the end of the game, securing the win for Longlevens, despite plenty of pressure throughout the second half from Westfields.
Westfields next fixture is a home league match against Slimbridge on Tuesday evening in the Hellenic League Premier Division, with new striker Cawley Cox set to feature.
WELLINGTON 0-4 Wantage Town
Wellington suffered their first home league defeat of the season, with Wantage Town running out comfortable winners.
Wellington found themselves 3-0 down at the break, with Ben Febery sent off. The visitors extended their lead in the second half, with Wellington now conceding eight goals in their opening three games in the Hellenic League Division One.
Wellington travel to Southam United on Wednesday evening, with Southam yet to register a point in their opening three league fixtures.
HEREFORDSHIRE PREMIER LEAGUE ROUND-UP
Kington Town beat newly promoted Ro-Stars 6-0 at home in their first Herefordshire Football League Premier Division game this season.
Goalscorers were Jack Gittoes (4), Jude Cook and 16 year old Cameron Moynihan who scored on his debut.
‘It was hugely satisfying to see 16 year old Cam on the scoresheet in his first taste of senior football.
‘He is a local lad who has progressed from last season’s under 16 team’ said a club spokesperson.
