Hereford Pegasus player Lewis Fletcher has taken time to speak to Your Herefordshire ahead of his sides Hellenic Cup tie against Lads Club at the KGD Stadium this weekend.

Hereford Pegasus are in fine goalscoring form and will be confident of causing a minor upset when they face Hellenic Premier Division side Hereford Lads Club on Saturday.

Lewis has started every league game this season for Pegasus and is confident the club can gain promotion.

YH: You’ve started every league game this season and the team has been in fine form recently. How do you rate your chances of promotion?

LF: It’s been a very good season, and we’ve hit form at the right time coming into the Play Offs.  I think we have every chance of promotion.  On our day we can beat anyone in this league, its just a case of getting it right and doing it in the play offs.

YH: Which player has stood out the most to you this season?

LF: Its hard to say, as everyone has been quality.  But I’d have to go with Goalkeeper, Matt Gwynne, he has been a big difference for us, having joined a few games into the season, we are yet to lose a game when he’s played.  Cawley Cox has obviously been massive since he came back after starting the season with Westfields.

YH: You take on Lads Club on Saturday in a cup fixture. They’ve had a steady season in the Hellenic Premier. Are you confident you can beat them this weekend?

LF: We back ourselves to beat anyone, but we know Lads Club very well and know they’re a good side who have done well in the league above.  It’s always an interesting between any of the Hereford based teams.

YH: How have the Pegasus management managed to get the most out of the side over recent weeks? It’s that time of season where injuries rack up and they must deserve huge credit for keeping you all mentally and physically up for the promotion battle?

LF: The Management deserve a lot of credit with how they’ve kept us going, rotating the squad when needed, it helps that we have a lot of good, committed players.  It also helps having a few ‘old heads’ in the squad, the likes of Captain Jamie Price, Matt Reeve, Paul Jones and Saul Thomas, who all have a lot of experience and know how to help younger lads and get the best out of the whole team.

YH: From the outside Pegasus appears a club on the up. What do you think is a realistic aim for the next few seasons?

LF: Pegasus deserve to be playing at a higher level, not just for the players, but for everyone in the background too.  The realistic aim is to be competing in the top half of the league above and then who knows.
