Hereford FC supporters have been urged to ‘keep the faith’ following a disappointing home defeat to strugglers Southport, who gained their first victory of the season at Edgar Street on Saturday.

The Bulls have been in a disappointing run of form, with recent home defeats to Peterborough Sports and Southport, combined with a thumping 4-0 defeat at Tamworth on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Bulls, cheered on by a crowd of 2,259, created plenty of chances, but failed to take them, with injuries to Jason Cowley and Andy Williams leaving Hereford short up top, which certainly isn’t helping the current situation.

Bulls manager Paul Caddis said in his post match interview that you ‘have to score goals when on top in football’ and that dispute Williams and Cowley being injured, he wasn’t one for ‘making excuses’.

Hereford FC chairman Chris Ammonds took to Twitter to ask Bulls fans to remain patient and to ‘keep the faith’.

He said:

“I understand the frustration and concern. As supporters, we all want Hereford FC to win every week.

“This was never going to be a smooth ride though (has it ever been at Edgar Street?!) and it was always likely to take some time.

“I never thought anything else.

“Thanks for the support today too. Another excellent attendance which, on many other days, would have seen us win.

“That’s football though, sadly.”

The Bulls now face two tough away trips, to Chester on Tuesday evening, and then Spennymoor on Saturday.
