James Hancocks was once again in goal-scoring form for Hereford Lads Club as they twice came from behind to earn a draw with high flying Corsham Town at The County Ground.
Despite a good start, Lads Club found themselves 1-0 down and with it all to do. Despite that setback, Lads Club continued to create chances and were the better side throughout the first half. However, it wasn’t long before they were level, with Hancocks getting on the end of a brilliant cross from Hockey to equalise for the home side.
However, Corsham Town took the lead in the second half against the run of play.
Despite suffering the setback of going behind again against the run of play, Lads Club didn’t give up and still had the better of the game. A brilliant ball over the top from Newbury ended up at the feet of Burke, who managed brilliantly to keep the ball in play before crossing in the path of Hancocks who bundled the ball home to equalise.
The visitors were hanging on by a thread, with Lads Club continuing to push forward. Only the woodwork could deny Newbury a spectacular winner, which the hosts would certainly have deserved, but in the end they had to settle for a point which leaves them 11th in the Hellenic Premier Division.
