Former Hereford FC player Maziar Kouhyar has signed for EFL League Two club Notts County.

Kouhyar joined the Bulls early 2021 when the National League North season was curtailed during covid. He had previously played for Walsall in the EFLbut a bad injury sidelined him for two years and he was working in a fast food restaurant to earn a living.

With the season curtailed in mid February, Hereford were still in the FA Trophy and made it to the final at Wembley.

A 3-1 defeat to Hornchurch in the final saw Kouhyar come on as a very late 2nd half substitute.

Kouhyar trained during the next pre season and signed a new deal at Edgar Street in the August.

He made 25 league appearances for Hereford during the 2021/2022 and scored 4 goals, but with the Bulls chasing a play off spot and Kouhyar not under contract, he left to join York City who he would win promotion to the National League via the play offs.

He made a brief return on loan to Hereford in March 2024 making 5 appearances, but he spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at Kidderminster Harriers.

York City released him in May 2025 and he has now signed a one year contract at Meadow Lane.
