Dan Jones has become Hereford FC’s latest signing this summer, ahead of the 2020/21 season. The former Port Vale and Cambridge player started his career at Wolves.
Matt Healey interviewed Jones with a Q&A for Your Herefordshire and the official website.
Q) What does it feel like to be a Hereford player?
A) Delighted to be at Edgar Street. Had a call from Josh Gowling. It’s local for me. I was so excited for the opportunity and it suited the way i play.
Q) Where do you play?
A) Full back. Very attack minded. Enjoy defending. But love my 1v1 battles.
Q) Can you tell the supporters what your previous clubs are?
A) Started off at Wolves. Left there at 22. Joined Sheffield Wednesday. Went to Port Vale and won promotion. Also played for Chesterfield, Notts County and Cambridge.
Q) How did Josh find out you were available?
A) I was talking to a friend and then weirdly Josh called me. I was impressed by the way he wanted to play football.
Q) What did you know about Hereford prior to signing?
A) I came across Hereford a lot during my Wolves days as we played them most pre seasons. I was on loan at Oldham in League One in 2008 and played Hereford then. Edgar street is a lovely big stadium and I cant wait to get started.
