Jake Wright, who has made over 300 Football League appearances including spells with Oxford United, Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers is the latest player to put pen to paper on a deal with The Bulls for the coming season.

Wright, an experienced centre back made over 280 appearances for Oxford United alone during which time he helped them regain promotion back to the Football League as well as promotion to League One in 2015/26.

2016 saw Jake move to League One Sheffield United where he went on to become an integral part of their promotion to the Championship in the heart of their defence, making 30 league appearances as the Blades raced to the League One title.

Last season the 34-year-old joined League One side Bolton Wanderers on loan until January where he made eleven appearances.

“I still think I’ve got a lot to give, a lot of years left in my legs, so hopefully I’ll be able to bring my experience from my promotions and help get this club back to where it needs to be.

“I’ve played against Hereford United quite a few times before five years ago when things happened, so I know they’ve got a good crowd, decent facilities and the gaffer is putting a good bunch of lads together.”

Josh Gowling was delighted to have secured Wright’s signature: “Jake is a very big signing for us, he’s a very commanding centre half, I think he’ll be great for [Jamie] Grimes to play alongside, to have someone with that experience.

“He’s got a great attitude; he’s got hunger and desire and he still wants to push on and win things and it’s great to have him around the club.”
