Hereford FC returned to form in the National League North with a 3-0 home victory over Blyth Spartans at Edgar Street.

Manager Josh Gowling spoke to the official website after the game and was delighted with the performance from his side.

“We could and maybe should have won by an even bigger margin,” admitted manager, Josh Gowling.

“Blyth are a decent possession-based team and I felt that we managed the pockets of the game where we didn’t have possession well.

“It was pleasing to see how resilient and organised we were at the start of the second half when our opponents had their spell on top and it gave us a platform to be able to go on and win the game comfortably in the end.

“It was a complete performance from all involved and we were delighted to get the three points. I’ve said all along that we are looking for progression. We want to be better than we were last season and our points tally shows that we are, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

“We face another tough test on Tuesday evening against opponents in Leamington who always make life difficult for us. We’ll take the confidence gained from Saturday and hopefully build on the positives so that we can secure another three points.”
