Hereford FC’s impressive FA Cup run came to an end on Friday evening when almost 5,000 supporters packed into Edgar Street for the fixture against Portsmouth.
The Bulls looked good in the first half, with Miles Storey making supporters dream when he capitalised on an error at the back by Portsmouth, to slot home the opener. The lead was short lived however and Portsmouth controlled the second half to progress into the next round with a 3-1 victory. The Bulls can be proud of their efforts and will now focus on a return to league action this week.
Elsewhere, Westfields looked all set for a home victory, following Archie Muirhead’s second half strike, before Roman Glass equalised at the death. A disappointing home draw for fields.
Hereford Pegasus made their first ever visit to Bradford Town for a uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division fixture played in difficult conditions.
The visitors cruised into a three goal lead inside twenty five minutes with goals from Curtis Townley and a brace from Cawley Cox. They could have added two or three more before the hosts reduced the deficit on the half hour.
Bradford scored inside the first minute of the second period before they levelled inside the hour.
Bradford Town secured the three points from a dubious penalty in stoppage time.
Hereford Lads Club travelled to Wantage Town and despite a number of injuries and players unavailable, they battled out a 0-0 draw in difficult conditions.
Zac Sirrell and Rob Whitlock came close to breaking the deadlock for Lads Club, but the home side continued to battle and the points were shared.
