Bartestree FC have been praised by their opponents Ewyas Harold, for an incredible gesture that was made in a recent fixture following the death of Joe Taylor.
In a post on Facebook, Ewyas Harold Football Club said:
“Sorry for the lack of updates over what has been a very busy weekend for the club with the mens, girls and boys teams all in action.
“The men got the weekend off to a winning start against our friends at Bartestree FC where a hard fought match was had between two competitive teams.
“We ended up winning the match by two goals to one with the Harold goals coming from Rich Sevenoaks and Joe Bevan.
“Putting the result to one side we were overwhelmed by the support offered to our club by Bartestree FC in respect of the sad and recent loss of Joe Taylor who was well connected to many of the Bartestree Players.
“They offered a Bartestree top with Joes name on the back which had been signed by players and management teams and this was followed by a one minute applause in memory of JT.
“This was a class gesture and one that meant very much to all at Ewyas Harold, we shared the photos with the family on Saturday evening and they were very much touched by the thought and care of the Bartestree club!”
