HEREFORDSHIRE will be hoping for more excellent contributions from their outstanding local players when they travel to take on Cornwall at St Austell in the final NCCA T20 Group 4 double-header on Sunday.
Last weekend against Devon, Luke Powell top-scored with 41 in the first of the two matches as well as taking three catches behind the stumps.
And, in the second match, Luke Tulacz was the top-scorer and last man out after compiling a better-than-run-a-ball 45.
Tulacz had previously hit the winning runs in the first match with a quickfire unbeaten 30.
Powell and Tulacz will be joined in the Herefordshire side on Sunday by Indiana Jerram, who was a late replacement against Devon and retains his place, and Harry Sockett who makes his first T20 appearance of the season.
Sockett’s teenage opening batting partner at Kidderminster, Lucas Ingram is handed a Herefordshire debut in one of three changes from the previous week.
Opener Hasan Mahmood also returns with Seth Essenhigh, Ben Clarke and Ben Clements dropping out.
With skipper Matt Pardoe unavailable, Ollie Walker will again captain the side.
Herefordshire are currently in third place in the five-team group and will need to maintain or improve upon that position to progress to the super-12s next month.
They should achieve this if they win one of Sunday’s two matches. But, with Cornwall and Dorset almost certainly through, Herefordshire could still progress even if they lose both matches should the same fate befall Wiltshire against Dorset.
Herefordshire: Ollie Walker (capt), Sinel Gunarathne, Hasan Mahmood, Luke Powell, Luke Tulacz, Cyrus Shafi, Harry Sockett, Lucas Ingram, Indiana Jerram, James Rudge, Imaad Mahmood.
