Liam Edmunds was born and bred in Herefordshire, and at the age of 24 has just become a licensed professional boxer, with his first professional fight taking place this weekend.
For any boxer, reaching a professional level is an outstanding achievement and for Liam, better known as ‘Eddie’, this is just the start of a long and successful road ahead.
Liam started boxing following the devastating loss of his mum in 2018, and has excelled himself in the sport ever since.
Liam will be entering the professional game on Sunday 17th October 2021 where he faces his opponent in Edgbaston, Birmingham. He has spent the last 5 weeks in a training camp at local club The City of Hereford Boxing Academy with his professional trainer Tony Chadwick.
“Eddie is extremely well prepared and dedicated to being successful in this sport, and it is an honour to be coaching him through it. We are lucky to have a pathway to professional boxing here at our club, and Eddie is the first of many that I hope to take on this journey” said Tony.
Liam is currently signed under management of PJ Promotions. He shares management with former IBF International Super Bantamweight Champion and former Commonwealth Champion Brad Foster.
Liam would like to thank his club The City of Hereford Boxing Academy, trainer Tony Chadwick, girlfriend Courtney and all sponsors for helping him on his journey.
We wish him the best of luck.
