Stonebow Road in Hereford has reopened this evening following an earlier incident.

Emergency services were called to Stonebow Road at around 6pm this evening. Crews from Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service attended the incident alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics and West Mercia Police officers.

The incident occurred at The Stonebow Unit and we have been told that there was a fire in one of the wards at the unit that was quickly contained by fire crews.

Emergency services remained on site until approximately 8pm this evening. Access to the hospital via Stonebow Road was temporarily blocked and those needing to access Hereford County Hospital had to do so via St Guthlac Street.
