We’ve received confirmation that the A49 is closed northbound at Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford this morning following a collision between a vehicle and a mobility scooter at approximately 7am.
There is debris on the northbound side of the carriageway on Greyfriars Bridge and motorists heading northbound are slowly being directed across the Old Bridge but this as you can imagine is a rather slow process.
The resulting delays mean that traffic on the A49 (Ross Road) and A465 (Belmont Road) is now queueing for miles and even smaller side roads are now heavily congested.
Your Herefordshire has approached West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service for further comment and hope that all involved in the incident are safe and well.
