Emergency services have been called to a collision on a major route in Herefordshire this afternoon.
The collision has occurred on the A49 between Hereford and Leominster.
There are significant delays near Moreton-on-Lugg, due to a collision involving at least four vehicles, and also roadworks in the area.
West Mercia Police are at the scene.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:
“We were called to reports of an RTC just off the A49 in Moreton on Lugg, Hereford at 12.41pm. We sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a child passenger who they assessed before conveying him to Hereford County Hospital. There were no other patients.”
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:
“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire Station was called at 12:50 on 6 March to make vehicles safe after an RTC on the A49 at Moreton-on-Lugg.
“The incident involved four vehicles with no persons trapped.
“Two casualties are in the care of the ambulance service who are attending along with police. Vehicles are being made safe by fire service personnel and the incident is ongoing.”
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
