Suggestions from a Green Party peer that men should have a 6pm night-time curfew to help make women feel safer have received a huge backlash.
The suggestion came from Baroness Jones in response to the news that a male police officer had been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Sarah Everard earlier this week.
The comments made by Baroness Jones received a huge backlash on social media with Nigel Farage calling the suggestion ridiculous.
However, Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford suggested that he would be happy to bring in a 6pm curfew in exceptional circumstances if it meant that women felt safer.
However on a post on the Your Herefordshire Facebook page earlier this week, much more realistic suggestions were made. These included better street lighting and requests for men to wear items of clothing that didn’t include a hood.
