COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospitalisations are all showing positive signs, which each trending downwards in latest data released by Public Health England.

On Monday, a further 35,077 positive cases of COVID-19 were identified, meaning that a total of 239,122 cases have been recorded in the past seven days. This is down by 2,080 (0.9%) on the previous week.

It’s a similar story with hospitalisations and deaths, with 754 patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 on 28th September, meaning that 5,073 patients have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19 in the past seven days. This is down by 577 (10.2%) on the previous week. Deaths are also down, with 33 further COVID-19 related deaths recorded on Monday, meaning that 778 people have died in the past seven days. This is down by 178 (18.6%) on the previous seven days.

Vaccination numbers continue to rise, with 87.3% of people aged 16 and over in Herefordshire now having received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 82.4% of the adult population aged 16 and over have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
