Localised flooding is causing issues on roads across parts of Herefordshire this afternoon. 

The A438 between Hereford and Ledbury has large areas of standing water, following torrential rain. 

The A40 and M50 near Ross-on-Wye are reported to be experiencing difficult driving conditions with some torrential downpours affecting the area.

Downpours are also making driving conditions between Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury difficult, as well as Dymock to Newent.

Heavy and torrential downpours are expected to continue throughout the afternoon and evening, but some areas may miss the worst, with sunny spells likely at times. 

In addition to this, in Gloucestershire, a section of the A417 is currently closed following a collision. 

Officers have closed a stretch of the A417 following a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon (Tuesday 8 October).

Emergency services were called shortly before 2.45pm with a report of a collision involving three vehicles near to the Golden Heart Inn.

A closure is in place on the Cirencester bound stretch of road from Birdlip Hill while emergency services remain at the scene.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes as traffic will be impacted in the lead up to rush hour.
