A frosty start with freezing fog patches stubbornly clearing. A few wintry showers pushing into the north. Brighter through the afternoon with sunny spells. Feeling cold, but pleasant in the sun. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Showers fading to leave a dry night with light winds. Turning very cold under widespread clear skies with a severe frost, freezing fog patches and icy stretches developing. Minimum temperature -5 °C.

Friday:

A bright start away from lingering freezing fog. Cloud building throughout the day with isolated outbreaks of rain, and perhaps hill snow, in the southwest. Another cold day. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather cloudy on Saturday with patchy rain possible. Sunnier spells on Sunday and Monday after freezing fog clears. Generally cold over the weekend but turning milder into the new week.
